The AgelessYour top priority is living forever. You're doing great so far - what has it been, centuries? Millennia? By now you're hardened, distant, jaded, and calcified in your convictions. |
| Goal | Destroy any threat |
| Boon | Deep experience |
| Bane | Bored and impatient with this world of children |
| Catnip | Devour novelty, hoard safety |
| Mania | Wreck projects and lives, driven by fear |
| Setup | What era do you remember best? What is your single weak point? |
| Grounding | Who do you miss? What have you sacrified to survive? What major element of the modern world irrationally infuriates or terrifies you? |
| Flair | Skittering blade-limbs / Freeze-dried mummy / Server in a bunker |
| Opus | Rejuvenation draught / Brain jar / Digital pandemic |
| Fiend | Brooding generations / Unkillable roach / Sedated organ bank |
Reasons to Live
Establish the top 5 reasons you cling to life, using any combination of:
- Things worth living for, ex: a goal, a person, an activity, a curiosity
- Things that make dying unacceptable, ex: oblivion, judgment, the unknown, spite for a rival, pride
Consider replacing them during the story.
Anchor to Life
You have an abstract ‘Anchor’ value keeping you alive. It starts somewhere from 3-7. When someone strikes a blow against you, reduce the value. The things it represents can be established as needed, ex: brain backups, supply of virgin blood, laser shield.
Option: Find My Horcruxes
Your Anchors represent items where you have separated parts of your mind: memories, emotions, traits, skills. Do you live without these parts, and will they return if the item is destroyed? Or can you still access these parts, until it's destroyed?
My Legions Precede Me
You long-ago established a family line, a cult, a government, a research body, or some organization of people.
Where do they fit into the modern world? What have they achieved? What threatens to wipe them out? How do they bring you pride and shame? Will they still recognize you as chief?
Familiarity Breeds Content
When reassured by something deeply familiar, cure a Feeling.
Option: My Annual 15th Birthday
You blend in with a normal age group.
Did you choose this? What is the greatest upside and downside? What threatens to give you away, and what reaction do you fear most?
